Season Recap: Chris Pendlebury Reflects on a Resilient 2025 Mini Stock Campaign

The 2025 season at Flamboro Speedway was one of growth, perseverance, and eventual triumph for Mini Stock driver Chris Pendlebury, pilot of the #84 machine. While the year began with its fair share of challenges, Pendlebury and his team’s relentless determination ultimately brought them back to victory lane and ended the season on a high note.

Adapting and Overcoming

Transitioning from a front-wheel-drive to a rear-wheel-drive car proved to be a significant adjustment for Pendlebury. The early part of the season was dedicated to finding comfort behind the wheel and diagnosing a frustrating mechanical issue that kept the car from performing at its full potential.

“We had a very up and down year in the Mini,” Pendlebury explained. “The first couple of races were about getting used to the car. We changed everything we could think of—fuel filter, pump, plugs, wires, distributor—you name it. But it just wouldn’t run right under load.”

After weeks of troubleshooting, Pendlebury turned to Brian Wilson and Junior, who originally built the car. Within a day, they found the root of the problem and had the car back on track—and back to life—after a successful test session at Varney Speedway.

“Once Brian and Junior worked their magic, the car came alive,” said Pendlebury. “From there, we kept fine-tuning things and the performance really started to show.”

A Season of Growth and Gratitude

When asked to grade his season, Pendlebury gave himself a C+ but credited his team with an A for their unwavering support.

“Grading yourself is always hard,” he said. “For me personally, I’d say a C+, but as a team, definitely an A. The amount of support from Lisa, my wife, Brent Leclerc, the Ramsbottoms, Cameron, old Chris Jr.—the list goes on. Everyone played such a huge part.”

Despite the early hurdles, Pendlebury’s persistence paid off. The #84 found its rhythm late in the year, earning four podium finishes and closing out the season with an emotional victory—a fitting reward for the team’s tireless effort.

“Getting that car running the way it should have all season, and then finishing on the podium four times with a win at the end of the year—that was huge,” Pendlebury reflected

Looking Ahead to 2026

As the checkered flag falls on 2025, Pendlebury is already turning his attention to a busy offseason and an even bigger 2026 campaign. He’ll be joining LLB Racing to compete full-time in the Canadian Vintage Modified (CVM) series, while also planning to run as many Mini Stock races as his schedule allows.

“The off-season plan is to go over the CVM and get it ready for next year. Once that’s done, we’ll give the Mini a good once-over—just a few small changes for next season,” he said. “Last year’s schedule at Flamboro was packed, and with the car troubles we had, it made things tough. But we’re ready to go full steam ahead for 2026.”

Special Thanks

Pendlebury was quick to acknowledge the people and partners who made his 2025 season possible.

“Special thanks to Lisa Barton for everything she’s done for not just me, but for our whole team—Cam, Jordan, and myself. She’s truly amazing to have as a friend,” Pendlebury shared. “Also a big shoutout to JR Fitzpatrick, Cam Thomson, First Nation Construction Services, Chris McComb, Natasha Pedersen, Mark Klotz, Macrae Marine, JoMo Media, and Stickers N’ Scuffs for their incredible support throughout the year.”

With newfound momentum, a supportive team, and a refreshed outlook, Chris Pendlebury is set to take on 2026 with determination and confidence—ready to make his mark once again at Flamboro Speedway and beyond.
