Practice Session: The race day kicked off with a calm, cool, and collected practice session. Afterward, participants were divided into groups for timed qualifying. In the first round, Sean Kennedy set the pace by securing the top spot. However, in round two, Paul Boundy managed to snatch the pole position with a fast lap time of 39.1 seconds.
Pole Times:
A Main: 39.1 (Paul Boundy)
B Main: 41.6
Race Format: The starting positions were inverted from 1st to 12th, resulting in exciting and competitive racing across both mains. This inversion certainly created some thrilling (and chaotic) moments.
B Main: In an unexpected turn, Lucas, who isn’t a regular racer, managed to navigate his way through the competition and emerged victorious in the B main. He held off challenges from experienced racers such as Glenn Morris, Amanda Balson, Graeme Day, Rob Warnes, Cory Horne, Wayne Dewey, and Brandon H.
B Main Results:
Lucas
Brandon H (Fastest B Main Lap)
Rob Warnes
A Main: The A main was nothing short of chaotic, with a pile-up in the first corner setting the tone for the rest of the race. The pack raced on despite the mayhem, with some moments of three-wide racing. According to Abbey, an official from JOMO was spotted on two wheels during a contact incident. Despite the chaos, the race continued without a halt.
A Main Results:
Sean Kennedy
Ava Boundy
Chad Strawn
Trophies and Medals: The A main trophies, beautifully crafted by Terri Strawn, were awarded to the top three finishers. Volt medals were presented to the top racers of the B main.
