The 2025 season was one of resilience and redemption for Megan Mitchell, driver of the #97 MRC Racing Bone Stock. What began with heartbreak quickly turned into her most successful season yet, both statistically and personally, as Mitchell battled back from early setbacks to find speed, confidence, and consistency on the track.
“It was my best but worst season all in one,” Mitchell reflected with a smile. “Having my car written off in the first couple of weeks made for a rough start and a lot of uncertainty. However, I bounced back faster than ever. Statistically, it was my best season — I led more laps than I ever have, set new personal records, and had stronger finishes toward the end. I had a really fun season!”

Despite the challenging start, Mitchell’s perseverance paid off as she continued to improve throughout the year, eventually earning some of her best finishes to date. Still, she’s her own toughest critic. “I’d give myself a C,” she said. “The year started really rough and I struggled. I honestly struggled with confidence up until the final few weekends when I caught a glimpse of what I’m capable of.”

Her highlight of the season came right out of the gate — Opening Night at Flamboro Speedway. “Last year I always started tail and stayed there,” she explained. “Opening Night this year, I started outside pole, took the lead, and led for half the race. It was a relief to myself and really memorable, because I didn’t think I was capable of starting or staying up front anymore.”
Looking ahead, Mitchell’s sights are already set on 2026. “My plan is to run full-time for points at Flamboro Speedway, as long as there’s a couple more weekends off,” she said. “If not, I may switch to a part-time schedule.”Her off-season plans include a fresh new look for the #97. “I’m painting the car with a new design as soon as possible, making adjustments to the new car, and using the free Saturdays to hang out with friends and family,” she added.

Mitchell was quick to acknowledge those who helped make her comeback season possible. “My dad and brother put in an incredible amount of work on our team,” she said. “Ashley McMartin from Lakeside Mobile Tire really stepped up when my car got written off, and I can’t thank our sponsors enough — McTear Water Haulage, GraphInk Design, JoMo Media, Lift The Visor, Stickers N’ Scuffs, DJD Gear, and Suzi Shepherd. Huge thanks as well to my Gran and Papa for their constant support at the track, my crew — Mom, Garrison, Cody, and Chelsea — and all my family who came out to watch.”
From a season that began with uncertainty to one filled with new milestones and momentum, Megan Mitchell has proven that persistence pays off. With renewed confidence and a fresh start ahead, the #97 MRC Racing Bone Stock is set to turn heads once again in 2026.
