As the 2025 racing season approaches, Cam Thomson, driver for CT Racing (Crate Sprint Car) and LLB Racing (Canadian Vintage Modifieds), is ready to tackle a packed schedule. Entering his first season in the Canadian Vintage Modifieds (CVM), Thomson is set to make his mark in both the Crate Sprint Car and CVM divisions this year.

Plans for the 2025 Season
Thomson’s 2025 campaign will see him competing every Friday night at Ohsweken Speedway in the Crate Sprint Car division, as well as participating in the 12-race Canadian Vintage Modifieds series at Flamboro Speedway.
“My plans for 2025 are to race at Ohsweken Speedway every Friday night and also compete in the 12-race CVM series at Flamboro,” Thomson explains. "It’s going to be a busy year, but I’m looking forward to it."

Season Goals
Thomson has set clear and ambitious goals for both of his racing endeavors. In the Crate Sprint Car division, he aims to secure at least one feature win and finish in the top five in points. Meanwhile, in CVM, his primary goal is to gain experience and improve consistently.
“For the sprint car, I’d love to park it on the pad at least once this season, and a top five in points would be a nice bonus,” says Thomson. “For the CVM, I’m just hoping to make it off the track each week under my own power. It’s a tough class, and it’s a lot different than pure stocks, but I think we can be competitive once we get some more seat time.”

Looking Forward to the Season’s Opening Day
When asked about the event he’s most excited about, Thomson doesn't hold back: “Opening day for both tracks!!!” The first race of the season always brings a sense of excitement and anticipation, and Thomson can’t wait to get started.
Toughest Competitors
In both divisions, Thomson knows the competition will be fierce. For the Crate Sprint Car, where 30+ cars often show up and only 28 make the starting grid, every race will be a battle.
“The entire Crate Sprint Car division is my toughest competitor every week,” he notes. “There are always 30+ cars and only 28 spots, so it’s a big challenge just to make it into the feature.”

As for CVM, Thomson is ready to face the learning curve and tough competition from veteran drivers. “For CVM, I’d say my toughest competitor is myself, as well as the other drivers," he shares. "It’s going to be a big learning curve for me, but I’m optimistic that we can be competitive once I get more experience behind the wheel.”
Traveling and Favorite Tracks
Thomson is also looking forward to traveling to some of his favorite tracks. “I’m excited to go back to Brighton if everything works out; I love two-day shows,” he says. “For the pavement side, I’ve always enjoyed going to Peterborough, but I also love Sauble and Sunset.”

Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Forward to 2025
Looking back on his 2024 season, Thomson is excited about the lessons learned and the experience gained. "The only thing from 2024 that came into 2025 was the sprint car,” he says. “I’m really looking forward to 2025 and the challenges ahead!”
