Back-to-Back Glory: Jacob Sutcliffe Crowned 2025 Mini Stock Champion at Sunset Speedway

For the second straight year, Jacob Sutcliffe and his #27 Mini Stock team proved to be the class of the field at Sunset Speedway, capturing the 2025 Mini Stock championship in impressive fashion. With unmatched consistency, determination, and teamwork, Sutcliffe capped off another standout season that solidified his reputation as one of the top drivers in the division.

“Overall, it was a great year,” Sutcliffe reflected. “I thought as a team and myself, I was able to be the most consistent I’ve ever been in the car, and we achieved a good percentage of my goals—which was a huge accomplishment.” That consistency paid off all season long, keeping the team in the title fight and ultimately securing their second consecutive championship.

When asked to grade his year, Sutcliffe gave himself a B+—a modest score for a driver who hoisted the championship trophy once again. “We had a really good year, but there’s definitely room for improvement,” he admitted, showing the focus and humility that have made him a repeat champion.

The highlight of Sutcliffe’s season came in a truly special moment — when he and his brother crossed the line first and second in the feature event. “That’s been a goal of ours since we started, so that was amazing,” he said, proudly recalling a memory that will stick with the entire family for years to come.

As for what’s next, Sutcliffe’s offseason plans include getting the #27 even quicker for next year and possibly working on a new project. His 2026 plans remain open as the team awaits confirmation of the upcoming track schedule, but one thing is certain — the #27 crew will be ready to chase more success.
