A Look Ahead With.... Rachel Mitchell

ree

Today, on Wilds Printing A Look Ahead we sit down the Rachel Mitchell. This will be Rachel's second season working with JoMo Media. After seeing her brother (Chase Mitchell), sister (Megan Mitchell) and father (Rick Mitchell) race under the MRC Racing banner it was time for Rachel to turn in her clip board and hop behind the wheel of the family owned ride. Rachel debuted with the team on July 22, 2023. Each time out, Rachel would be improving and was evident by the end of the season.

Heading into the 2024 Rachel has been busy preparing a brand new car to race in the Pure Stock division at Flamboro Speedway. Not only will Rachel be driving a new car, she will also be sporting a new number. In 2024 Rachel will be piloting the number 37. With a new build in the works of course it will get some used to, but her father has assured her that the car has some pep. "Here's to hoping I can drive it to it's potential." Says Rachel. The mindset heading heading into any new season of course it to be competitive, for Rachel her mindset heading into the season is have fun and go for perfect attendance. Rachel added "I want to run all 21 nights to get Flamboro's pit pass for 2025."

For the racers, it's not always about the competition. For Rachel it is true, we asked her what is one event she is looking forward to and that is the popular Meet the Drivers Night, where fans have the chance to come down on to the racing surface during intermission and chat to their favourite drivers. Fans are able to walk away with a cookie, candy, hero card and even stickers. Rachel spoke to us about her time last year during Meet the Drivers Night. "I had such a blast last year being able to be apart of it. It felt good seeing the support from the fans." With two meet the drivers nights at Flamboro Speedway make sure to come out, stop and say "hi".

For bone stock racing in Ontario, it is tough to pick a track that doesn't love the bone stock class. Though it is an affordable entry level division, it features some of the best racing in Ontario. The second year driver from Ancaster, Ontario is looking to battle with the great drivers of Flamboro. Rachel is looking to make her biggest competition her father (Rick Mitchell). "I want to be able to keep up with him and battle along side him for position.". Rachel added, " His dream has always been racing with his kids."

This season wouldn't be possible without the support of her family as well as GraphInk Design Studio. Follow along with season updates by following MRC Racing on Facebook and Instagram.
